About

Ton Tran
I love being a web developer, and there are not enough words in which I can describe how thankful I am. Website development is one of the most fast growing industry today, and I am proud to be apart of it. There was a time when parents were pushing their kids towards medicine, sports, law, and so on but today I see more and more parents pushing their kids towards software development and engineering which makes me proud of my profession.

Even as a kid, I was always interested in technology, computers, and programming. I was always in touch with building fast computers, troubleshooting software, and creating a home network when I grew up. I was constantly retrieving the Sunday newspaper for ads from Circuit City, Fry’s, and Good Guys to see what the newest computer is and what its hardware consist of. I soon found myself shopping at websites like Newegg.com and PriceWatch.com for the best deals on ram, hard drives, and graphic cards and within a few years, I developed enough knowledge to become the neighborhood tech guy.

My interest in technology was always on my mind, which is why I started taking classes at the Treehouse; it is an online technology school that offers beginner to advanced courses in web development, web design, games, and mobile development. Their development team of experts has taught me so much which encourage me to complete the University of Washington Web Development Program to be certified in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. With their help and my love and passion for website development, I have slowly but surely achieved a level of mastery in web development. I have learned from my mistakes and used my failures as an example to do better.

Today, there is no doubt in my mind when I say that web development has changed my life, not just in the development and earning aspect, also in terms of my approach towards technology. As a web developer, I am able to help my clients present their services and products to a huge audience; by creating a functional website, with an attractive design. There is nothing I love more than a challenge, and there is nothing more challenging that producing something that is unique, exactly what the client asked for, and much more. As I am a socialite my meetings with clients are on a more personal level, as it will help me understand exactly what the client wants.

Website development is not just a job for me, it is my passion. It is a passion that drives me everyday and it never lets me get sick of it. Yes, there are times when doing too much of the same thing, even something you love can drive you away from your passion. But I have found a way to keep me going, every time I find myself doing the same thing that I know will drive me insane. I challenge myself, I do a project for myself that requires all my skills. There are times when I know my ideas can make such a huge impact but are out of line from the guidelines given to me; I do it both ways. Do not get me wrong, it is not because I want to prove I am better; it is simply for me, or if my client wishes to go a different way.

People ask me what I do not get tired of the same routine, my answer is always simple; it is because my routine is never the same. There is so much more I have to learn in web development that it keeps me going. Every day, brings a new challenge, a new experience, and a new lesson. For me, web development is all about creating something from nothing, and how can that bore anyone?

My work is client based, project oriented which allows me to set goals and meet deadlines. My creative side allows me to grasp new art and design principles to apply. There are a few specific technologies that require constant learning which keep me going such as, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, etc.

Website development is much like film-making, writing, painting, and fields that require incredible creative skills. It is not just something you can learn and not be passionate about. Web development is a mixture of creativity and technology, which is why I have not been able to draw myself away from it. My passion for design and technology is what will lead me to achieve my dreams. And my personal goals is to one day become a valuable asset to a large tech company in Seattle, Washington.
